Marcus Hamill

Marcus’ fascination with film began through acting in commercials as a young child. After the reviews he received from his peers he decided that behind the camera was the place for him.

He studied photography, film and acting at the University of Northern Colorado, where his graduating film won best script and best director.

Marcus loves working with actors. He has an ability to get to the truth of a character and the heart of an idea, creating commercials that have a naturalistic feel, with a beautiful cinematic style.

His work has been awarded in the London Advertising Awards and New York Festival, won Gold at the ACS, as well as featuring in the ‘the Work’, and BBC’s best ads on T.V.

He has recently completed two short films.  ‘Viva Las Possum’ was a winner of the 2009 Jameson Whiskey script writing initiative, and an official selection in the ‘Australian Film Festival’ and ‘St.Kilda Festival’, while ‘When the Magic’s Gone’ has just been selected as a merited film in ‘The Doorpost Film Festival’.
