Born in England, Richard moved to New Zealand at an early age with his family. Prior to completing his Bachelor of Broadcasting Degree, Richard worked as both a musician and as an engineer. He started his filmmaking career with video clips and documentaries and began shooting television commercials whilst based in New Zealand.
Richard’s talent and experience has taken him around the world directing cinema and television commercials for both the international and domestic markets. An impressive understanding of drama and film narrative, coupled with a formidable mastery of both shooting and post production techniques has seen Richard highly awarded internationally.
Richard is consistently challenging and expanding creative boundaries. His passion is confirmed in believing that his best work is yet to be done.
Richard is comfortable working anywhere in the world, having filmed in New York City, Paris, Tokyo, North & South America, and extensively throughout Asia and Australasia, for clients as diverse as Sony, Air New Zealand, Unilever, Visa International, Telstra, Singapore Airlines, Kiwi Bank, Vodafone, OCBC, Nokia and Peugeot.
